BAYM's work experience program prepares young people for the world of business. Learn to Work projects are centered on the renovation of the Industrial Youth Center complex. Teenage employees form good work habits and learn about business from professional contractors and entrepreneurs.
Learn to Work (LTW) Program Goals
- To be an integral component of the Industrial Youth Center in Bridgeport's East End
- To restore the East End neighborhood's industrial employment opportunities
- To provide job-training and pre-employment skills to Bridgeport youth
- To provide an industrial business environment for urban young people to develop trade, communication and business skills
- To promote worker ethics, quality products and services, job readiness, and responsibility in teenage workers
- To continue to collaborate and expand linkages with Bridgeport area juvenile crime and drug prevention agencies, community service agencies, and Bullard Havens RVTS
